US President Donald Trump on Friday congratulated Taranjit Sandhu on assuming the office of the Delhi Lt Governor.
”Congratulations to Taranjit Sandhu on becoming the new Lt Governor of Delhi,” Trump said on his social media platform.
He said that Taranjit Sandhu, as a seasoned Diplomat and former Ambassador to the United States, has always shown deep commitment to strengthening the US-India relationship. ”Wishing him success in leading Delhi’s progress, and furthering global ties,” Trump said.
Taranjit Singh Sandhu who is serving as the 21st Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, was India’s 28th Ambassador to the US from February 2020 to January 2024.
He also served as India’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.
