Trump says will talk tariff, sanctions relief with Iran as US warns weapons suppliers

US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that discussions with new “productive regime” of Iran over sanctions relief will begin soon, citing a framework of 15 points that have already been agreed upon.

He said that the US will work with Iran, “which we have determined has gone through what will be a very productive Regime Change!”

In a post on Truth Social, Trump reiterated that Iran will not enrich uranium and said the US will work with Tehran to “dig up and remove all of the deeply buried (B-2 Bombers) Nuclear ‘Dust,’” emphasising that the sites have been under “very exacting satellite surveillance” since the date of the initial attacks.

“Nothing has been touched from the date of attack. We are, and will be, talking Tariff and Sanctions relief with Iran. Many of the 15 points have already been been agreed to,” he added.

Trump also issued a stern warning to countries which supplied weapons to Iran during conflict, stating that such nations will face immediate tariffs.

“A Country supplying Military Weapons to Iran will be immediately tariffed, on any and all goods sold to the United States of America, 50%, effective immediately. There will be no exclusions or exemptions!”

Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance described the current ceasefire as a “fragile truce” and urged Iran to negotiate in “good faith” toward a long-term agreement.

Speaking from Budapest, where he is supporting Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán ahead of national elections, Vance said an agreement is possible if Tehran cooperates. “But if they prevent even the fragile truce from taking hold, they will not be pleased,” he warned.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who has been mediating the talks, confirmed that Islamabad will host US and Iranian delegations on Friday to pursue a conclusive agreement resolving all disputes.
