Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said two more groups affiliated with Hurriyat Conference have severed all ties with separatism,
A day earlier chief of Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-i-Istiqlal Ghulam Nabi Sofi had announced its formal disassociation from the Hurriyat or any other group pursuing the similar ideology.
The development prompted Union Home Minister Amit Shah to say “under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government, separatism is breathing its last”.
Shah, in a post on X, named two political parties – J&K Tahreeqi Isteqlal and J&K Tahreek-I-Istiqamat, as having severed all ties with separatism
“Another great news from Kashmir Valley. Two more groups affiliated with the Hurriyat, namely J&K Tahreeqi Isteqlal and J&K Tahreek-I-Istiqamat, have discarded separatism and reposed their trust in the new Bharat built by PM Shri @narendramodi Ji. Under the Modi government, separatism is breathing its last, and the triumph of unity is echoing across Kashmir,” Shah said on X.
On March 25, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’s Movement (JKPM) and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (JKDPM) had disassociated themselves from Hurriyat.
