Unable to Bear Loss, Gowhars Grand Mother Dies

Srinagar: Unable to come to the terms that Gowhar was shot dead by Paramilitary forces, the grandmother of Zainakote youth died late Sunday evening after hearing the tragic news.

According to family members, 60 year old Rehti Begum, fainted when she could not see Gowhar for last two days and asked family members about his wellbeing.

“We tried to hide the reality to her but she insisted us to know about his whereabouts. And we were forced to disclose the harsh reality that Gowhar is no more,” said Inaytullah, cousin of Gowhar.

He said after Rehti fainted she was rushed to JVC for treatment where she succumbed.

An aspiring engineer was shot dead by paramilitary forces two days ago at Zainakote in outskirts of Srinagar. The government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the killing while the forces later regretted over the killing.
