A man shot his father and grandmother dead allegedly over a monetary dispute in Tilhar area of Shahjahanpur district here in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, a senior police officer said.
Superintendent of Police (SP) S Anand said that Shyam Pal, a resident of Marakka village, had sold his land for Rs 14 lakh four months back and after repaying his loan deposited Rs 8 lakh in the bank. “Shyam Pal’s son Mohit was demanding his share in the deal and had a dispute with his father after the latter refused,” he said.
He said that around 7 am Mohit along with his mother Sudhabati and wife Satyawati shot his father Shyam Pal (50) and granddaughter Bhagyamati (70) dead. “The accused has been detained and is being questioned. The bodies have been sent for post mortem examination,” he said.
