US military support for Project Freedom in the Strait of Hormuz will include destroyers, aircraft, and 15,000 troops, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced.
“U.S. military support to Project Freedom will include guided-missile destroyers, over 100 land and sea-based aircraft, multi-domain unmanned platforms, and 15,000 service members,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
US President Donald Trump previously announced Project Freedom, which would begin Monday morning (Middle East time) to remove ships stuck in the Strait of Hormuz.
“For the good of Iran, the Middle East, and the United States, we have told these Countries that we will guide their Ships safely out of these restricted Waterways, so that they can freely and ably get on with their business … This process, Project Freedom, will begin Monday morning, Middle East time,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Countries from all over the world asked Washington for help in this matter, the US leader added.
