Srinagar: Amidst the massive protests against the killing of 22 year old Gowhar Nazir , hundreds of vehicles remain stranded on Srinagar-Muzafferabad highway after angry protesters blocked the road.

 Eye witnesses said that thousands of people poured in from adjoining localities of Zainakore to participate in the funeral procession of Gowhar who died after receiving a tear gas shell in his head fired by Paramilitary forces on protesters in evening today.

Although the government has ordered the magisterial probe into this incident, the angry protesters refuse to calm down while chanting pro freedom and anti India slogans.

The protesters demand stern punishment to the forces allegedly involved into the killing of youth. Gowhar along with hundreds of other people was protesting against the curbs imposed by government over the separatist movement to foil their million march call of TRC chalo.  Meanwhile, reportedly the 82 Batallion of CRPF stationed in the area has come under severe attack of public wrath as protesters are hurling stones and rocks towards them. The protests in the area were on when this report was filed.
