Lucknow, April 20 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday alleged that crime is on the rise under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and the zero tolerance of the Chief Minister has turned out to be a big zero.
In a statement issued here, Akhilesh said, “In BJP UP has turned into ‘Apradh Pradesh’ (crime state). Due to the collusion of the mafia, police and government all judicial and constitutional limits are being broken. There is a sense of fear among the people and there is an atmosphere of insecurity in the state.”

He said that the lives of daughters have become difficult under the rule of those who used to claim that they can step out of their houses wearing jewellery even at midnight. “When those who have the responsibility of making people fear-free become goons then where will the public plead for justice? In Bareilly a policeman damaged the mobile phone and scooter of a girl. A girl was teased in front of her brother in Gomti Nagar in Lucknow. A 14-year-old girl was raped in Varanasi,” he said.
Akhilesh said, “The truth is that there is a spurt in crimes after BJP came to power again in the state. “The public is not being heard anywhere and BJP has become so arrogant that it does not care about the law and the constitution.”
