10 killed, 32 injured as bus overturns in eastern Mexico


A woman and a police constable were among eight passengers of an SUV who lost their lives in an accident on the Indore-Ahmedabad highway in Madhya Pradesh, police said late last night.

According to Umakant Choudhary, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Rural) in Indore, the authorities received information about a severely damaged SUV near the Dhar border in the Betma police station area.

Of the nine passengers in the vehicle, eight lost their lives, the police said.

Preliminary reports suggest that all passengers were en route to Guna. The deceased include a woman and a police constable. The constable, hailing from Shivpuri, was behind the wheel at the time of the accident.

Choudhary confirmed that all bodies have been transported to Indore, while the injured has been rushed to hospital. The identities of the victims are yet to be ascertained.
