Civil Defence Organises Drug De-addiction Awareness Programme at HSS Delina

Marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Civil Defence Baramulla, with support from Dragger Division Baramulla, organised a drug de-addiction awareness programme at Higher Secondary School Delina on Friday.

The event witnessed active participation from students of Classes 11 and 12. Addressing the gathering, Chief Warden Dr. Anayat Mir described drug addiction as not only a public health concern but also a serious social and national security challenge, urging collective efforts to protect youth from the menace.

Experts, including Dr. Javid (MD, SDH Sopore), senior psychologist Ms. Ruheela and Civil Defence Sector Warden Mr. Ayoub, educated students about the dangers of substance abuse, emerging drug trends, preventive measures and the importance of informed decision-making.

The programme concluded with an interactive session, highlighting the need for sustained awareness, community participation and coordinated action to combat drug abuse.
