Sopore: Intense clashes broke out in the North Kashmir’s Sopore town between Government forces and protesters after the Friday prayers.
Soon after the Friday congregational prayers protesters started raising pro- freedom and anti Indian slogans outside Jamia Masjid Sopore.
When the protesters were stopped by the heavy deployment of police the protesters resisted and attempted to break the restrictions triggering clashes.
Police used teargas and PAVA shells to disperse the protesters. Intense clashes were going on when this story was filed.
