Sopore: Many students have been arrested during nocturnal raids by police in Sopore town of district Baramulla.
According to reports, more than twenty students have been arrested during night raids from different place at Sopore area and have been lodged in Sopore police station.
Those who have been arrested are the students of Govt. Degree College Sopore, Boys Higher Secondary School Sopore and some outsiders too.
According to reports, police raids were not only conducted in main town of Sopore but also in adjoining villages, in which many students were arrested.
Some reports suggested that the parents of the arrested students were waiting outside the Sopore police station to meet their wards inside lockup.
However, the senior police official, wishing not to be named said that so far 20 students have been arrested.
“More than twenty students have been arrested for questioning and will be released after proper investigation.”
