Bullet-Riddled Body Of 40-Year Old Man Recovered In Bijbehara

Srinagar: Bullet-riddled body of a 40-year-old man was recovered in orchards Kashmir on Monday night.

Reports reaching GNS said that some locals spotted the body lying in the orchards of Wapzan in Bijbehara and informed concerned police station about it.

A police officer while confirming the incident said that the bullet riddled body was later recovered and taken to SDH Bijbehara. The officer identified the deceased as Nazir Ahmad Bhat (40), son of Late Ghulam Qadir Bhat, a resident of Wopzan- Herpora.

“After conducting all medico-legal formalities including the postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to family for last rites,” he said.

“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations initiated to ascertain the incident,” the officer said.

Bhat, according to reports was a farmer by profession. (GNS)
