After Colonial’s Death, Army Presses Choppers, Commandos for Kupwara Gunfight

Kupwara: A day after Colonial died in deadly gunfight between militants and security forces in Manigah area of Kupwara district of North Kashmir, the army has launched an intensive search operation with the help of special commandos and sniper dogs to track down the militants responsible for killing.

 Colonial Madhaik was killed and two more soldiers were injured after militants launched an assault on army men during their search operation in forest area of this border district on Monday.

 According to army official, special commandos have been dropped by helicopters in suspected areas along with huge number of regular army men to flush out the militants who carried the deadly assault.

 The ground operation which has been expanded into other nearby areas includes Kalaroos, Hyhama and Trumnard villages.

The operation is monitored by the hovering helicopters of army.
