Agriculture University Seeks Release Of Abducted Student

Date:

SRINAGAR: The faculty members of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir on Friday appealed for the immediate release of their student abducted by unknown gunmen from his Tral residence on August 29.

A statement issued here by the faculty members said Asif Rather, an MSc Sericulture student, has become a role model for other students when it comes to realizing their social responsibilities.

He has been in the university for the last six years and during this stay in the university we have found him totally apolitical and religiously pious who would always work for the betterment of the society in general and student community in particular,” the statement said.

“On the behalf of SKUAST-employees, SKUAST-K Scientists and Teachers Association (SSTA) wholeheartedly extends this fervent appeal to his abductors to kindly have mercy on this gentle soul and facilitate his early and safe return to his home for ALLAH sake so that we all are relieved of this immense trauma,” it said.(CNS)
