Srinagar: Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was totally against the incorporation of Article 370 in the Indian Constitution and he opposed it tooth and nail. He did not favour grant of any special status to Jammu & Kashmir, BJP State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul said on Thursday while paying tributes to him on his death anniversary in a programme held at party headquarter, Jammu.
Ashok Kaul in a statement issued to KNO said that even after decades Dr. Ambedkar remains one of the unparalleled leaders of masses across the country.He said that “Baba Saheb grew up at the time of great struggle and his life incidences must inspire us to face challenges of life with positive and laborious attitude.”
“With endless craving and quest for knowledge, Ambedkar was also opposed to untouchability as he was of the view that one’s caste should not be any parameter to judge his or her capability, intelligence and zeal to serve the society,” he said.
“Had the then Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru agreed to the views of Dr. Ambedkar on Article 370 and not adopted rigid stand to appease Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah, the political and social scenario in the state would have been totally different with no space for separatist tendencies”, said Ashok Kaul.
Similarly, the other leaders also spoke on the life of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and also highlighted the recognition being given to him during the BJP led government at the Centre.
