Srinagar: Lok Jankshakti Party (LJP) National spokesperson and youth president, Sanjay Saraf on Thursday said that the issue of turning JK Bank into PSU was raked up only to evade the Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) probe into the ‘flaw in insurance scheme’.

Addressing a presser here at Kashmir Press Club, Saraf told reporters that National Conference president, Dr Farooq Abdullah should have made the things public when he was the Chief Minister of the State.

Earlier, Dr Farooq had said that the design to take over the JK Bank was in the pipeline since his tenure as Chief Minister in the State. However, Saraf as per KNO correspondent said that these statements are nothing but to befool the people of Kashmir yet again.

“He was the then Chief Minister and why did he wait for a Mumbai based newspaper to highlight the situation of JK Bank.

He should have come asked for the documents directly to see the ground work of the Bank,” he said.

Moreover, he said that the is no design to take over the JK Bank but the decision taken recently in a SAC meeting with the consent of the bureaucrats was only aimed to evade from the CBI probe regarding flaw in group mediclaim health insurance scheme.

“Several bureaucrats are involved in the scam and the decision was only taken to shield them,” he added. Meanwhile, he said that the claim of the Government of India regarding the ground situation is totally wrong.

“The situation is worsening and there is a need to create people-friendly atmosphere,” he said. About talks with Pakistan, Saraf said that the GOI must whole-heartedly reciprocate over the talks offer by Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan so that the people here could heave a sigh of relief.(KNO)
