Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday declared that any attempts by the US or Israel to coerce Iran into “surrender” are “destined to fail,” adding that the Iranian people will never accept such a path.
Speaking at a meeting with Tehran’s emergency service officials on Wednesday, Pezeshkian emphasised that Iran has never sought war or instability and has consistently favoured dialogue and constructive engagement with other countries.
Without mentioning the United States, the Iranian President criticized what he called double standards in international conduct and condemned military actions against sovereign nations.
Referring to Iran’s principled positions despite the US-Israeli aggression, Pezeshkian said “Iran does not seek war or instability” and has always emphasized dialogue and constructive engagement with other countries, Iran’s state media reported.
“However, any attempt to impose will or force the country into submission is doomed to fail, and the Iranian nation will never accept such an approach,” Pezeshkian said as he reviewed service delivery, operational readiness, and specialized capacities.
“What justification exists within international law and humanitarian principles for targeting civilians, elites, children, and destroying vital centers such as schools and hospitals?” he asked.
Highlighting the role of national unity, the president praised the “unparalleled and exemplary unity” of the Iranian people during the 40-day conflict with US and Israeli forces, which he said thwarted the enemies’ objectives.
He underscored the importance of national unity, stating that the “unparalleled and exemplary unity” of the Iranian people during the 40-day war frustrated the enemies’ objectives.
He stressed that maintaining the same spirit among the public, managers, and service providers would strengthen national power, adding, “In such circumstances, no power will be able to bring this nation to its knees.”
The United States and the Israeli regime launched an unprovoked war on Iran on February 28, assassinating the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and top military commanders. With its firm military response, Iran forced them to accept a ceasefire after 40 days.
