Jammu: Police o n Friday detained scores of persons who are reportedly activists of Bajrang Dal after they tried to assault Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MLC, Firdous Tak here. Earlier, Tak had visited the Press Club here to address the media persons.
As soon as Tak arrived, a group of persons who are reportedly affiliated with Bajrang Dal amid slogans had a minor scuffle with him and allegedly attempted to assault him. Meanwhile, police personal as per KNO intervened and rescued the MLC following which scores of persons involved in the act were detained.
The Bajrang Dal activists were staging protest against the recent MLC’s controversial comments in Kishtwar town, a video of which also went viral on social media.
He however, also questioned if the accused have not been identified then who misled the Governor Satya Pal Malik. “We have taken Bajrang Dal activists into the custody,” police said.(KNO)
