Bandipora Protests Against Army’s ‘Highhandedness’

baNDIPORABandipora: The North Kashmiri's Bandipora district today erupted with protests against an alleged torture of four persons including son and a mother by 14 Rashtriya Rifles at Gujar Basti of Chuntmulla village.

According to police official all four victims have been shifted to hospitals for treatment owing to grave injury marks.

Early in the morning, according to witnesses, the mother and son staged the protests in front of district office and sought punishment to the accused troops. As the news about torture spread in the area, scores of people assembled at main town and chanted anti army slogans.

The police fired numerous tear gas shells to quell the protesters. The protests were going on when the report was filed.
