Basharat Bukhari for Joint Efforts to Uplift Weaker Sections of Society

Commends social service initiatives of Human Aid Society

Baramulla: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Syed Basharat Bukhari today called for a joint and coordinated effort from all the sections of the society for the uplift of the weaker and poorer sections of the society.

The Minister was speaking during the Annual Day Function of Human Aid Society at Baramulla. MLA Baramulla, Javaid Hassan Beigh, Director North Campus, Kashmir University, Officers, and civil society members were present on the occasion.

While announcing an Ambulance for the Human Aid Society of his CDF, Basharat Bukhari appreciated the commendable role played by the volunteers of the NGO in the relief and rescue operations during September 2014 floods. “We need to work with dedication for helping the poorer and weaker sections of the society. Every member of the society should shoulder the responsibility. Efforts should be made to make the weaker and handicapped people independent,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Javaid Hassan Beigh, highlighted the need for working at the ground level. He termed organizations like Human Aid Society as social reformers.

Various other speakers also deliberated on the social service aspect of the human life.

Earlier, through a documentary and a Power Point Presentation, the role of the Human Aid Society during the floods was depicted and presented before the audience.

It was given out that the society is working for the education of poor and orphan students, organizing medical camps and has played immense role in the rehabilitation of disaster affected people.

At the conclusion of the function, Syed Basharat Bukhari distributed awards among the meritorious students of the district.

Later on the Minister had interaction with various delegations of the general public and listened to their problems. (KNS)
