BJP responsible for increasing terror attacks in Jammu: Omar Abdullah

Date:

National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Tuesday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party was responsible for the increasing terror attacks in the Jammu division.

Omar made these remarks in reply to a question that Home Minister Amit Shah had said in Gulabgarh in Jammu said that NC and Congress were responsible for the increasing terror attacks in the Jammu division.

“Let the Home Minister Amit Shah say who was responsible for the increasing terror attacks in Jammu division”, Omar said and added, “The Congress and National Conference government is not there for the past ten years”.

Omar said for the past six years there has been a direct central government rule in Jammu and Kashmir.

“If you are witnessing an increase in the terror attacks in Jammu division today and attacks on Yatris have taken place in Reasi, and on the troops, officers and brave soldiers are being killed in encounters it is all because of the BJP rule”, Omar told media persons in Badgam on Tuesday.

“BJP can put us responsible when there was our rule. But if today the terrorism is increasing in Jammu division the BJP is responsible for all that,” he said

Asked that Home Minister Amit Shah also said that restoration of Article 370 is impossible, Omar said that “nothing is impossible. If it could have been impossible, the Supreme Court could not have given its verdict in favour of Article 370 thrice. Why was it not impossible at that time?’, Omar asked.

He said when BJP had just two Member Parliaments in the Lok Sabha during the unprecedented victory of late Congress leader Rajiv Gandhi why the Article 370 not impossible at that time, Omar asked.

“The verdict that has come against Article 370 was not made by the Almighty. It has been taken through the Parliament and any decision of the Parliament can be changed at any time”, Omar asserted.

He said “If the five bench of Supreme Court Judges decided today abrogation of Article 370. Is it not possible that tomorrow a bench of seven judges will sit and decide to revoke Article 370?.it is not impossible”, he added.

Omar hoped that his National Conference would get a clear-cut mandate in the elections.
