Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee President Vikar Rasool on Wednesday demanded that the central government must reply on the increasing terrorist incidents in JK.

“Congress is feeling concerned about the series of attacks that are happening in Jammu division including on the pilgrims bound to Shiv Khori at Reasi in which ten people were killed and 34 injured”, the J&K PCC president told media persons in Srinagar.

“The militancy has not been ended during the past 35 years despite the government making tall claims”, he said and demanded “the Prime Minister and the Home Minister must reply on the increasing terrorist incident in Jammu and Kashmir.

Rasool said “during the Congress regime in 2002, the situation was pure with a good atmosphere, but we never said that militancy has finished”. “It (militancy) has not been ended during the past 35 years despite the government making tall claims”, he added.

Expressing concerns over the terrorist attacks in Doda and Kathua in Jammu region, Vikar said that Congress is feeling concerned about these series of attacks that happened in Jammu division including on the pilgrims bound to Shiv Khori at Reasi in which ten people were killed and 34 others were injured.

“What the security forces and the government is doing”, he questioned.

He said the government in the parliament beat drums that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has been improved after abrogating article 370.

“The government should beat the drums only when the situation on the ground in Jammu and Kashmir is peaceful”, the JK PCC President said.

“Even the leaders of the BJP including Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defence Minister and other leaders asked for a vote on these issues to the party”, he said.

Rasool said today a series of attacks are being carried out by the militants in Jammu and Kashmir and the situation where it reaches now.

“I want to remember Prime Minister Narendra Modi that when Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister of India, he (Narendra Modi) was repeatedly asking the Prime Minister that he had the Army, BSF and other security forces where from these militants are coming”, Vikar narrated and said “the similar question I am asking the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Defence Minister, that in your question where from these terrorists are coming”.

Vikar said that congress wishes the situation in Jammu and Kashmir should improve and the place become a militancy free zone.

He said the infiltrating terrorists should be stopped alongwith the killing of the innocent people in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that fool proof security should be placed for the forthcoming annual Amarnath Yatra pilgrim to thwart any such incident for that we have to feel guilty later on.

Congress strongly condemns all the incident and hope the situation will improve and the people of Jammu and Kashmir live peacefully and prosper, Rasool said.

He also hoped that the elections would be held soon so that an elected government could be established in Jammu and Kashmir.
