With the opening of this much hyped tertiary care children hospital, the old one existing at Sonawar Srinagar will be shutting now. New hospital is laced with modern technology, expanded infrastructure an upgraded double from the previous one. It is 500 bedded hospital and will be catering the requirements of entire Kashmir valley. The hospital is completed after failing to meet so many deadlines. It was long back when Omar Abdullah in 2014 proposed the Bemina location for the construction of Children hospital following the public demand. At Sonawar, the hospital was not capable enough to meet the ever-soaring public pressure with limited infrastructure and technology in place. The worst was people visiting the hospital from both South and North regions in additions of central Kashmir getting stuck in traffic jams for hours. Bemina is a fine location and accessible to all without having major traffic jams to face. It is touching Srinagar-Jammu highway that gives it more advantage and the capacity is for now quite enough. Since being it easily accessible for all, the Hospital may face massive public pressure
