Revenue officials dismiss allegations

Srinagar:  JK Congress Organizing Secretary   Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan Thursday accused the Revenue Officials of Eidgah for enlisting those flood victims for relief who are PDP workers.

Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan told KNS that the revenue officials at Eidgah “favour” PDP workers and “ignore” those who deserve flood relief.

“Revenue Officials in Safakadal teshil have become workers of PDP as they enlist only PDP workers for relief,” Khan alleged.

He alleged that the revenue officials had dropped some flood victims from the list to which he raised objected.

“But the revenue officials threatened me and tried to beat me for interfering in their work,” he said.

Refuting the allegation of Khan, Naib Tehsildar Safakadal Syed Abid Andrabi told KNS that political workers want to take credit for giving flood victims relief.

“Today, Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan came to our office and asked for the flood relief file. He wanted to take the file to DC office himself. But we said that we can’t give any official to file to any one as it is the responsibility of officials,” Andrabi said.

“Also, a PDP worker came while Khan was in the office, which irritated him, and he got angry due to his presence,” he said, adding that Khan’s allegations are baseless. (KNS)
