Congress held strong protest over the issue of Daily Wagers, other workers in different Govt Departments

Srinagar: The Congress today held strong protest over the issue of Daily Wagers and other workers in different Government Departments and walked out of the house and boycotted the rest of proceedings for not taking up the adjournment motion submitted by the Congress Members in the Legislative Assembly to discuss the failure of the Govt to address the issues of different categories of agitating Youth protesting on the roads in various parts of the State.

 

According to a statement issued to KNS, the Congress Members raised the issue in the morning when the house assembled and demanded the adjournment motion submitted by them over the issue of Daily Wagers and other categories of such youth in different categories be taken up by suspending the other business proceedings of the House for the day.

 

They continued their protest  in the house and said that  issue is of greater pubic importance  as the thousands of Youth working in the different  departments as Daily Wager, Need Basis, CP Workers, ITI and  in different categories including  the NYC volunteers are agitating  for their genuine demands and holding protest and Dharnas  in various parts of the State, but the Government maintains its  indifferent attitude towards their problems and  demands. They demanded full fledged discussion on the issue and pressed for their adjournment motion.

 

They continued their protest in support of  their demand in the house for quite some time, but  their demand was not accepted as a result they walked out of the house and boycotted  the rest of proceedings  of the day, accusing the  Govt of being non serious  to the issues of youth.

 

Meanwhile, Congress Members in the Upper House (Legislative Council) pressed for the adjournment motion on the issue of improper and faulty ration distribution system in the State and demanded that the proceedings of the house be adjourned to discuss the issue concerning the common people of the State who are suffering a lot due to improper ration distribution system.

 

They continued their protest for quite some time and ultimately walked out of the house and boycotted the rest of the proceedings as their adjournment motion was not allowed. (KNS)
