COVID-19: Three More Patients Die In J&K, Toll 191

Srinagar: Three more patients who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died in Jammu and Kashmir, thus taking the toll of deaths due to the virus to 191.

The three patients who died include a 60-year-old man from Nadihal Baramulla who died at SKIMS, a 65-year-old man from Shopian who died at JVC Bemina and a 47-year-old man from  Talab Tillo who died at  GMC Jammu.

Dr. Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent at SKIMS told news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a 60-year-old man from Nadihal Baramulla was admitted on 05 July and was tested positive, died on Tuesday morning at 4 AM.

He said the patient was suffering from bilateral community-acquired pneumonia, hypertension, diabetes, Chronic Kidney disease, and end-stage renal stage.

Dr Shifa Deva, Medical Superintendent at JVC Bemina said that a 65-year-old man from  Shopian whose Coronary bypass surgery was already done and was admitted on 10 July, died on Tuesday at around 9:45 am.

The patient was suffering from bilateral pneumonia and other ailments, she said. Officials from GMC Jammu said that the patient was undergoing treatment in GMC Jammu for the last two days and was suffering from fever as well as some respiratory problems.

“He was on oxygen support and attempts were made to provide him best possible treatment for life-saving but he died.” said officials.

They said that the patient, aged 47, was posted in the Directorate office of the Agriculture department in Jammu.

With three more deaths, the death toll due to Covid-19 has reached to 191 including 18 from Jammu and 173 from Kashmir division—(KNO)
