CJP protest at Jantar Mantar: six detained to prevent possible clash

Date:

Six people were detained by the Delhi Police during the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday as a precautionary measure to prevent a possible confrontation between two groups.

The protest is over now.

According to police, the action was taken after receiving inputs about potential tensions between supporters and opponents of the online movement. Officials said the six individuals were taken into preventive custody when they were allegedly found attempting to create a disturbance near the protest site.

Delhi Police maintained that the detentions were aimed at ensuring law and order and preventing any untoward incident during the demonstration.

The situation remained under control throughout the protest, and no major incident or clash was reported, police added.
