Cricketer displays Palestine flag logo on helmet, Jammu police initiates probe

The Jammu Police have initiated probe as the Kashmir based cricketer displayed a logo of Palestine flag on his helmet during a match here.


The police spokesman on Friday said that a video circulating on social media showed a cricket player, namely Furqan Ul Haq, resident of Tangipuna, Pulwama, playing cricket at KC Door, Muthi while displaying a Palestine flag logo on his helmet.


“In view of the sensitivity of the matter and its potential public order implications, a 14 days preliminary enquiry under relevant section has been initiated at Police Station Domana to ascertain the facts, intent, background of the individual, and any possible linkages,” he said.
