Vice-Chancellor of the Central University Of Kashmir (CUK), Prof. Mehraj Ud Din Mir chaired the meeting of the Planning and Monitoring Board (PMB) and meeting of the University Building Committee (UBC) through both online and offline mode at varsity’s Green Campus.
Addressing the participants in both Planning and Monitoring Board and UBC, Prof. Mehraj Ud Din Mir said that after the countrywide lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the university began online academic activities and started teaching students through various social media platforms.
“The departments of CUK have organized several webinars and other academic activities, through the online medium during the lockdown. The faculty members also distributed study material among the students, to compensate for their classwork, which was immensely affected due to the prevailing pandemic”. He said.
Meanwhile, the university has resumed its functioning as per the guidelines issued by the Department of Personnel and Training.
Apart from the previously existing programmes in the university, CUK is launching new Post Graduate courses including Botany, Chemistry, and Diploma in Peace and Conflict Studies as well.
“The overwhelming response to the ongoing admission process is an indicator that the varsity has earned a good brand image and is ahead in the right direction,” Said Prof. Fayaz Ahmad Nika, Registrar, Central University of Kashmir.
CUK has also vacated all the rented buildings from Nowgam, Srinagar, and is completely shifted to district Ganderbal wherein it is functioning from five different campuses, including the designated campus at Tulmulla.
During meetings, several resolutions were passed and the experts hailed the efforts of the varsity in academics and administrative affairs.
