‘Disco Dancer’ director says Bollywood should rekindle its love with Kashmir

The ‘Disco Dancer’ director and film producer B Subash on Wednesday said the Bollywood should rekindle its love with Kashmir by visiting in huge numbers to shoot their films.

Talking to media persons on the sidelines of the two-day International Film Festival that started in Kashmir today, Subash said Kashmir is a pleasant place for the Bollywood producers and directors and they should rekindle their love and visit in huge numbers to shoot their films here.

Kashmir has turned modern and seems all well here at present with prosperity and development visible,” Subash who directed Mithun Chakraborty starrer ‘Disco Dancer’ .

He said the love of the people already exists here and during 1960-70 almost every film was being shot in Kashmir.

“Every film was atleast having songs shot in Kashmir with mesmerizing scenic beauties”, the film producer said and added “I wish the Bollywood come to Kashmir to shoot films and the era of late great actor Shami Kapoor who was shooting films in Kashmir will come back”.

Subash said he earlier visited Kashmir along with his family for vacations during 1982-83 when his film ‘Disco Dancer’ became a very big hit.

He said Bollywood is producing the highest number of films in the world and there is no need to go on foreign locations to shoot films. They should come here to shoot films and will get everything here in Kashmir.
