A truck driver died in a multi-vehicle collision inside the Banihal-Qazigund four-lane tunnel overnight.
Police said the truck was on its way to Jammu from the Kashmir Valley and collided with several trucks in a row inside the tunnel causing serious injuries to a driver.
The injured driver was evacuated from the spot and shifted to Banihal Hospital by police where the doctors declared him dead.
The deceased have been identified as Sukhdev Singh, son of Bakhtwar Singh, resident of Pallipora, Punjab.
A case has been registered at Banihal police station, and further investigation has been initiated.
