Srinagar: A Truck Driver from Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district was killed in a road mishap at Batalbalian area of Udhampur along Srinagar-Jammu highway during the intervening night of November 10 and 11.
An official said that the driver of the Truck (JK 09-4631) died when another truck (JK02AV-2974) hit him resulting in his on spot death.
“The mishap occurred when the driver was checking the screws of the tyres of his truck,” he said.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station Udhampur and further investigations were taken up in this regard, he said.
The officer said that after conducting all legal formalities the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites. (GNS)
