Elderly from PoK detained near Poonch LoC

Army have detained an intruder hailing from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) after he crossed over to the Indian side of the border along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.


A patrolling team of the Army early Wednesday detained the man in his 70s when he entered into the Indian Territory.


“As per initial findings, the detainee might have inadvertently crossed into our side,” the sources said.
The intruder was identified as Munir Hussain, 72, resident of Battal village, PoK. “He was unarmed and nothing incriminating was found from his possession,” the sources said.


The matter is under investigation.
