Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday said the FIR filed against Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and her brother Rahul Gandhi was false and a “desperate move” by the BJP to divert from Adani and other issues.
Talking to media in the Parliament premises, the Wayanad MP said, “The desperation of the government has come out in open. They have filed false FIR against Rahul Gandhi. The government is running away from discussions”.
Defending Rahul, Priyanka said that her brother “was not such a type of person who could push anybody”.
She further said, “As his sister, I know him for so many years and he cannot do such a thing and the country also knows”.
It may be mentioned that the BJP yesterday lodged an FIR with Delhi Police against Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of physically assaulting two BJP MPs Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput during a scuffle in the Parliament premises over Home Minister Amit Shah remarks on Dr Ambedkar.
Moreover, the Congress leader also attacked the government for “insulting BR Ambedkar and Constitution” and said, “The Constitution has been given by Ambedkar ji and also gave rights to every citizen. The way the BJP insulted him, the people of the entire country are hurt. The country will not tolerate the insult of Ambedkar ji,” she said.
