Five Fresh Deaths Take J&K’s COVID Toll To 154

With five more deaths on Thursday, COVID19 mortality in J&K reached 154.
An official told the news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service(KINS) that four women and a political leader died of this virus on Thursday in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir include a 65-year-old woman from Kulgam, a 70-year-old woman from Pulwama, a 60-year-old woman from Baramulla, an 80-year-old woman from Natipora Srinagar and 38-year-old National Conference leader.
Dr. Shifa Deva, Medical Superintendent at SKIMS Bemina told KINS that a 65-year-old woman from Kulgam died on Thursday. “The patient was admitted at around 7 p.m. on July 8. She was having pneumonia besides other underlying ailments such as hypertension,” she said.
Dr. Nazir Choudhary, Medical Superintendent SMHS hospital told KINS that an 80-year-old woman from Natipora Srinagar died of this virus on Thursday at the hospital. He said the patient was admitted to the hospital on June 1. “She had underlying ailments like hypertension, diabetes, and community-acquired bilateral pneumonia (CAP),” he said.
Giving details about the 70-year-old from Pulwama woman Dr. Nazir Choudhary said the patient was having multiple problems including bilateral pneumonia. She was admitted on July 6 and died today, he added.
Dr. Salim Tak, Medical Superintendent of the Chest Disease hospital Srinagar told KINS that a 60-year-old woman from Baramulla died of COVID-19 on Thursday. “She was admitted to ICU of the hospital on June 6 with hypertension, hypothyroidism, and bilateral pneumonia,” he added.
Meanwhile, on Thursday evening, a 38-year-old National Conference leader has died due to COVID-19 in a hospital in Jammu.
With five more deaths, the toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 154 including 139 from Kashmir and 15 from Jammu division. (KINS)
