Srinagar, (UNI) Girls have outshined boys in the Class XII examinations, the results of which were declared by J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) on Tuesday.
According to BOSE, 72,180 students had appeared in the examination and 75 per cent of them passed the Class XII examinations.
The girls have topped in all the streams.
In science stream, Arusa Parvaiz bagged the first position. A student of Kashmir Harvard Naseem Bagh Srinagar, she secured 499 (99.8 per cent) marks.
The second position has been bagged by Simrah Hafeez of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Soura Srinagar. She has scored 498 marks.
The third position has been jointly shared by two girls Faiza Zahoor Tantry and Hadiya Rashid – and a boy Sakib Bashir Lone. All the three have scored 497 marks.
In the faculty of Commerce, Tabinda Jan of Kashmir Harvard Naseem Bagh Srinagar has bagged the first position by securing 497 marks.
Rutba Bashir of Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Amira Kadal Srinagar and Saliq Ashraf of Govt Boy Hr Sec School Anantnag have secured the second position jointly with 495 marks.
In the Faculty of Arts, the first position has been jointly bagged by two girls and a boy. All the three Adeebah Muzamil, Hafsa Yusuf and Suhail Ahmad Dar who secured 99.2 per cent marks are students of various government schools in Srinagar, Anantnag and Pulwama.
In the Home Science stream, all the three top positions have been grabbed by girls. The topper Sahila Nabi of Govt School Kothibagh has bagged 495 marks.
