Encounter Breaks Out In North Kashmir’s Hajin Area

BANDIPORA: A gunfight is underway between militants and Government Forces in Hajin area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

A police official said that that encounter broke out after Government Forces received inputs about the presence of militants in Par Mohalla.

As the area was brought under siege, militants hiding in a house resorted to indiscriminate firing, ensuing an encounter.

Reinforcement has been called to stop people from moving towards encounter site.

The official said roads leading towards the encounter site have been sealed while Forces personnel have been deployed in strength to prevent clashes.

In past, militants have managed to break the cordon with active local support in the same area
