Hearing held in HC over Rahul Gandhi’s petition

Ranchi, April 8 (UNI) Hearing was on Friday held in the Jharkhand High Court over a petition of senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The matter was taken up in the court Justice SK Dwivedi.

The lawyers representing the Congress leader sought time from the court to reply which was accepted by the court and April 26 was fixed as the next date of hearing in the case.

A petition was filed against Rahul Gandhi in lower court of Ranchi for his comments against people having their surname ‘Modi’ which was made by the Congress leader while addressing a party function in the Morhabadi grounds in the year 2020.

Later one Pradeep Modi had filed a defamation petition in Ranchi Civil Court. The lower court had later directed the Congress leader to appear before it which was challenged by the lawyers of Rahul Gandhi in the High Court.
