Widespread rains lashed Kashmir overnight, triggering waterlogging in several parts of Srinagar on Monday, while the Meteorological Department forecast continued widespread rain and thunderstorms across Jammu and Kashmir till July 23.
According to rainfall data, Ganderbal recorded 46.0 mm of rain, while Srinagar received 45.6 mm, leading to waterlogging in several low-lying areas of the city and causing inconvenience to commuters during the morning hours.
Among other major stations, Sopore recorded 55.4 mm, Gulmarg 8.2 mm, Pahalgam 3.2 mm, Kupwara 0.8 mm, Anantnag 1.0 mm, Pulwama 2.0 mm, Bandipora 10.5 mm, Budgam 15.0 mm, and Qazigund 0.1 mm of rainfall.
Currently water levels are quite normal in Kashmir.
The MeT department has forecast fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rain and thunderstorms across Jammu and Kashmir till Thursday.

Authorities have advised people to remain cautious, particularly in low-lying and waterlogging-prone areas, as intermittent rainfall is expected to continue.
