National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Friday expressed deep concern over the ongoing West Asia conflict, and warned that the economic consequences of the war would be widespread.
“The economic situation will be badly affected. Not only our country, but the entire world will feel the impact. That is why this war must end as soon as possible,” he told reporters after Friday prayers.
He also called for an immediate end to the war and restoration of peace.
“May Allah end this war and peace come to the world and people live in harmony. May Allah accept the prayers of those suffering and protect them from this calamity,” Abdullah said.
Responding to a question that former US President Donald Trump had often played a role in past conflicts by calling for ceasefires, Abdullah said that Trump was himself involved in the war.
