India logs 5,357 fresh Covid cases in last 24 hrs

India has recorded a single-day jump of 5,357 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the active caseload to 32,814 according to the Union Health Ministry on Sunday.

The toll has risen to 5,30,954 with 11 deaths- with three deaths reported from Gujarat, two from Himachal Pradesh, and one each from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh besides one reconciled by Kerala.

As many as 3,726 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. The total number of people who have recuperated from the disease is 4.41 crore ( 4,41,92,837).

The recovery rate currently stood at 98.74 percent.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 3.39 percent while the weekly positivity was pegged at 3.54 percent.

The Ministry said, 659 vaccine doses of COVID have been administered during the last 24 hours under the nationwide vaccination drive.

220.66 cr Total Vaccine doses (95.21 cr Second Dose and 22.87 cr Precaution Dose) have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive, said the Ministry.

Meanwhile, 92.27 cr Total Tests conducted so far; 1,57,894 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as per Ministry data.

Meanwhile, Delhi logged 535 fresh Covid-19 cases on Saturday with a positivity rate of 23.05 Percent, according to data shared by the city government’s health department.

The city had logged 733 Covid cases the highest in more than seven months, on Friday with a positivity rate of 19.93 Percent. The national capital recorded 620 cases on August 26, 2022.
