Indo-Pak Armies Trade Gunfire In Nowgam Sector

Kupwara: The armies of India and Pakistan Friday exchanged gunfire along the line of control in Nowgam sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said here.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Pakistani Rangers this morning resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation in the Nowgam sector by firing mortar shells and other weapons.

Defence spokesman, Colonel Rajesh Kalia told KNO that Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation this morning along the line of control (LoC) in Nowgam sector.

He said that they fired mortars and other weapons and the same is heavily being retaliated.

Preveniently, cross border shelling was also going on in three sectors in north Kashmir including  Karnah in Kupwara, Nowgam in Handwara and Boniyar in Baramulla—(KNO)
