Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Thursday accused the United Arab Emirates of being an active participant in what he described as a joint U.S.-Israel military campaign against Iran, alleging that Abu Dhabi was involved in the conflict and had contributed to acts of aggression against his country.
“The UAE is an active partner in this aggression, and there is no doubt about it,” Araghchi said in a Telegram post while attending the BRICS summit in India.
He also referred to what he described as a “secret meeting” during the conflict between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, allegedly held in the UAE. However, Abu Dhabi has strongly denied that any such meeting took place.
“I must say that the UAE was directly involved in the act of aggression against my country. When this aggression began, they even refused to condemn it,” Araghchi said, adding that it later became “clear” the UAE had participated in the attacks and “may have even acted directly” against Iran.
Relations between Iran and the UAE have deteriorated after US-Israel attack on Iran on February 28 in which top leaders of Iran were also killed. Tehran launched etaliatory strikes on US allies in the Gulf .
