J-K LG transfers 14 IAS, JKAS officers; Anshul Garg becomes youngest Div Com of Kashmir

In a significant administrative reshuffle by the Lieutenant Governor’s administration, Anshul Garg, a 36-year-old IAS officer of the 2013 batch, has been appointed as the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, making him the youngest officer to assume the high-profile post.

Garg, who previously served as CEO of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, replaced V.K. Bhiduri, who was transferred to Delhi by the Ministry of Home Affairs in May.

Known for his proactive approach during his earlier stint as Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara in 2019, Garg earned public admiration when he brought electricity to remote villages near the Line of Control.

The reshuffle also involved 10 IAS and 4 JKAS officers, with several major changes: Naveen S L, Secretary, Transport, is now Secretary, Civil Aviation Department, with additional charge of Civil Aviation Commissioner.

 Avny Lavasa, previously awaiting posting, is appointed Secretary, Transport Department. Vikas Kundal, DC Poonch, is the new Chairman, J&K Services Selection Board. Gurpal Singh, Director, Social Welfare Jammu, becomes MD, Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. Sachin Kumar Vaishya, DC Jammu, is now CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. Anil Banka, awaiting posting, is appointed Special Secretary, Finance Department. Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, MD, JPDCL, is posted as DC Kupwara. Rakesh Minhas, DC Kathua, becomes DC Jammu. Ayushi Sudan, DC Kupwara, is transferred as DC Samba. Indu Kanwal Chib, JKAS and Chairperson, JKSSB, is appointed DC Bandipora, replacing Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, who will await further orders.

Ashok Kumar Sharma, Special Secretary, Labour & Employment, is now DC Poonch. Rajesh Sharma, DC Samba, is transferred as DC Kathua.(KINS)
