Jammu Police arrest four drug peddlers with narcotics & sharp weapons

Jammu Police have arrested four drug peddlers, including three women with narcotics and sharp weapons in Bishnah area on the city outskirts on Thursday.

A police spokesman said that reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy against drug peddlers, Jammu Police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ conducted a major operation in Bishnah area arresting four notorious drug peddlers and recovering 40.5 grams of heroin along with sharp-edged weapons.

The arrested personsidentified as Parveen Kumar alias Pinna, Rekha Kumari alias Kajal, Jyoti Bala alias Ramta and Rashmi Langeh, all residents of Village Chorli, Bishnah, Jammu were apprehended while targeting innocent youth of the area.

A case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and Arms Act has been registered and investigation is underway.

The arrested individuals were part of a network responsible for drug distribution, which has caused tragic overdoses in the region, said the spokesman.

The operation, led by SHO Police Station Bishnah, was executed under the supervision of SDPO R.S. Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu.

Jammu Police remains committed to eradicating the drug menace and urges the public to report suspicious activities. Informant confidentiality will be ensured, fostering a safer and drug-free society.
