Bar Association Jammu supports call, work in courts to remain suspended
JCCI has called for a shutdown in winter capital Jammu against the killing of CRPF men in a militant attack at Lethpora, Awantipora of Pulwama on Thursday.
The J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu has supported the shutdown call and said that work in the courts will remain suspended on Friday.
President JCCI in a presser along with his Office Bearers and Presidents of different affiliated associations including Matador operator Association announced a peaceful Jammu Bandh on February 15 Friday to protest against the brutal killing of CRPF Jawans in Kashmir Division.
He also demanded immediate action for those responsible for shouting Anti India Slogans in Jammu. The Chamber President said: “We shall not allow anyone to spoil the peaceful atmosphere and brotherhood in Jammu as people from all religions feel safe here.”
He further appealed to all the people to observe peaceful bandh and prayed for peace to the departed souls of CRPF Jawans martyred in Kashmir. He also appealed to the Prime Minister Narender Modi to wake up to the factual security situation on the ground and act accordingly.
The J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu’s spokesman said that the lawyer’s body has decided to suspend work in all the courts in Jammu, including the High Court and the Tribunals.
“The suspension of work by the Association is a mark of respect to the departed souls and for expressing our solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved families, “Lawyers body said. They said that the lawyers will take out a protest march from the High Court Complex.
