The groom among three persons were killed and two others suffered injuries when a car accompanying the marriage party met with an accident and plunged into a deep gorge in Bani tehsil of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Police here on Friday said that a car accompanying the Barat on the way from Sitti towards Bhandar, plunged into a deep gorge near Fral Nala on Thursday evening.
Two persons including a bridegroom died on the spot while one person later succumbed to injuries at Sub District Hospital, Bani.
The deceased were identified as Vicky (Bridegroom) died on the spot and Rakesh Kumar of Gatti (succumbed to injuries at SDH Bani) and Jeevan, resident of Kote.
Meanwhile the injured persons namely Shashupal Sharma of Mahanpur and Mohan Singh, 22, were referred to the Government Medical College, Kathua.
Police have taken cognizance and registered a case.
