Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached property worth lakhs belonging to a drug peddler in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The police spokesman here today said that as a part of its relentless effort against drug peddlers and narcotics smugglers, the police have attached a single storey residential house and cattle shed valued at approximately Rs 44.50 lakhs belonging to the notorious drug peddler Sham Din of Sarore Adda, tehsil Bari Brahmana, district Samba.

The spokesman said that the action was taken by police under relevant sections.

The residential house and cattle shed were identified as illegally acquired property during the course of the investigation conducted by police, and the property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances by the drug peddler.

“This operation reaffirms the commitment of Samba Police to combat the drug menace,” he said.
