JK Police attach property of two proclaimed offenders in Sopore

Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday attached property of two proclaimed offenders in Sopore sub district.

Police attached 6 kanals and 19 marlas of orchard land belonging to two proclaimed offenders Irshad Ahmad Reshi of Yamberzalwari Harwan, Sopore and Bashir Ahmad Mir son of Harwan Tujjar, Sopore.

Police said this action is related to a 2008 case which was registred under sections 2/3 EMCO, 120B, 121 IPC and 7/24 Arms Act.

“The attachment was executed under the provisions of sections 82, 83 of CrPC, by a team of Sopore Police and Revenue officials, after receiving approval from competent authority,” police said.

Meanwhile, Police in Budgam attached the immovable property of a drug peddler in Mazhama village of Budgam district.

The attached property, a single-storey residential house valued at Rs 18,00,000 belongs to Mohammad Rafeeq Sheikh, resident of Mazhama, police said.

This action has been carried out under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in connection with Case FIR No. 161/2024, registered under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Magam.

The case pertains to the recovery of a commercial quantity of contraband (50 bottles of Codeine Phosphate) from the possession of the accused.
